Our Vision

We’re having a blast celebrating the creative spirit. And we hope our enthusiasm ignites you! The American Spark Project is our nonprofit 501(c)(3) arm. Through TASP we tell publicly-supported stories about creative arts AND we’re giving away musical instruments.

Instrument Giveaway

Have you ever witnessed how something as simple as a musical instrument can transform a life? Giving young people the tools to explore their creative selves can open up new and wondrous opportunities. It’s a shame not every person on the planet owns an instrument. While we’re sorting out that shortfall, we’d like to give more young folks in our community the opportunity — to compose, cover, riff, jam, finesse and downright play their own musical instruments. Welcome to The American Spark Project.

“More than a decade ago…

I met Justice Pendleton. A 10-year old spitfire, she lit up the room with her energy and curiosity. Over the years as I remained in close contact with her and her family, I observed how central music was to her life. From early on, she would blow us away by listening to something she liked and almost immediately playing it on the piano by ear. She will be the first to tell you music played a huge role in her formative years. Justice graduated from Delaware State Cum Laude, and we couldn’t be more proud of her achievements.”

In his spare time, American Spark volunteer Chris Rash works behind the scenes re-stringing and polishing instruments as we prepare to match them with their new owners!
